Where To Buy A Thanksgiving Turkey In Bensonhurst

Next week it will be that time of year, when we stuff ourselves silly, spend lots of time with family and friends, and then promptly sink into a three-day turkey coma.

That means it’s time to start shopping around for birds. To help make your holiday planning a little less stressful, we’ve rounded up a few local supermarkets in our area that are carrying a wide selection of frozen, fresh, and precooked turkeys at unbeatable prices.

1. NetCost Market
Where: 8772 18th Avenue
What: This neighborhood favorite sells frozen Butterball turkeys ($1.99/lb) and all-natural capon ($2.99/lb). They also offer precooked turkeys, which come stuffed with rice and dried fruit or macaroni and mushrooms ($49.99). The precooked birds require a $20 deposit.

2. Frank & Sal’s Prime Meats

What: Carrying fresh Bell & Evans turkeys ($3.49/lb) and frozen Norbest turkeys ($2.49/lb).

3. Meat Supreme Gourmet Market & Catering

What:  Carrying Norbest ($1.99/lb, down a buck from last year),Butterball turkeys (2.59/lb), and Bell & Evans ($2.99/lb). They also sell precooked birds ($4.99/lb), which can be accompanied with sausage or cornbread stuffings ($30/ half tray, up $5 from last year).
