A new District 15 middle school is opening August 2013.

BUGS–Brooklyn Urban Garden School–will be housed inside Bishop Ford High Sschool at 500 Nineteenth Street between 10th Ave and Prospect Park West.

According to their website, BUGS will be:

a vibrant middle school dedicated to civic engagement and the interdisciplinary study of environmental sustainability. Students will master the core academic subjects with New York City as their living classroom.

Learn more at one of the three upcoming information sessions held at the new school:

Tuesday – daytime: February 5th from 11am- 12noon.
Monday – evening: February 25th from 6:30pm-7:30pm
Monday- evening: March 4th from 6:30pm-7:30pm

The downside of a new school is lack of a track record. The upside, the ability to influence a new school environment.
