According to NYPD spokesperson, the cop is expected to do fine.
The police officer who was shot is in stable condition at Jamaica Hospital. A ballistic vest likely saved his life.

News just came in that a male police officer was shot at 149 Chestnut Street in Cypress Hills.

The officer is in stable condition but the suspect, who is armed, has barricaded himself in at an apartment building.
