BREAKING: Armed Man Near H&R Block On Nostrand

We received several e-mails in the past two and a half hours from readers about police activity on Nostrand Avenue and Avenue Y. One reader, Andrew, told us he heard over the police scanner that it was a “guy with a gun” in H&R Block, while another reader informed us that the intersection was closed off by police. There was an ongoing search for the man, said that reader. The first reader to contact us was around 8:45 p.m., and she said helicopters were hovering in the area with search lights.
