B/Q Line Subway Service Advisories: 1/28 – 2/1

Navigating these subway service changes is becoming more challenging than decoding math theorems and quadratic equations, so for all you brave, commuting Pythagorases out there, here is the latest on the B and Q trains. Try to plan your schedules accordingly so you’re not too terribly inconvenienced.

B Trains:

From 9:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Wednesday to Friday, January 30 to February 1, 145th Street-bound B trains will run local between the Sheepshead Bay Road and Prospect Park stations.

Now for the really confusing stuff…

Q Trains – Nights:

Between the hours of 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Monday to Friday, January 28 to February 1, there will be no trains at N, Q and R stations in Manhattan.

Q trains are being rerouted via the D’s Sixth Avenue line in Manhattan to/from the 57 Street F station.

The Q trains will operate as follows:

  • Manhattan-bound Q: After DeKalb Avenue, the Q trains run via the D line to 47-50 Rockefeller Center, then to the 57th Street F station, the last stop.
  • Coney Island-bound Q: Q trains originate at the 57th Street F station then run via the D to Brooklyn. Regular Coney Island-bound Q service resumes at DeKalb Avenue.

Q Trains – Days:

Between the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Tuesday to Friday, January 29 to February 1, there will be no Q trains running between 57th Street-7th Avenue and Ditmars Boulevard. You will need to take the N train instead.

Also, between the hours of 9:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., from Wednesday to Friday, January 30 to February 1, Coney Island-bound Q trains will run express from Prospect Park to Sheepshead Bay.
