Beygl to Take Over the El Pollo Space
It’s only been a few weeks since El Pollo closed up their 5th Avenue location, but yesterday, the new tenants announced their intentions. Beygl (“bagel” in Yiddish) doesn’t seem to have disclosed any details yet, but the signs in the window promise bagels, eggs, breakfast, and lunch, which leads us to believe it’s breakfast/lunch place specializing in bagels and eggs. And if the sign aesthetic matches the spirit of the joint, I’m into it. No word yet on an opening date, but we’ve got our ears (stomachs?) to the ground.
