Bensonhurst Man Charged With Hate Crime After Attacking Orthodox Jews

A 23-year-old man has been charged with hate crime after assaulting two Jewish men in separate incidents last week, JP Updates reports:

The incidents occurred on Friday May 22nd, 2015, when the suspect, identified as Shadi Rabah, assaulted two Hasidic men walking on the street, according to the police. In both incidents Rabah came from behind and assaulted them without being noticed.
In the first incident, Rabah accrued approached a 20-year-old Hasidic man at 86 street and 19th Avenue, assaulted him and fled the scene. A short while later he assaulted a 57-year-old male at 86th street and Bay Parkway.

Cops from the 62nd Precinct launched an investigation, and soon the NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force was assigned to the case, according to the outlet.

After police IDed Rabba in surveilance footage, they arrested him on Thursday, June 4, and he confessed to assaulting the 57-year-old man, cops told JP. He was charged two counts of assault as a hate crime.
