Bath Beach Resident Charged With Vehicular Manslaughter For Saturday’s Deadly Sheepshead Bay Crash

As reported by Sheepshead Bites, a major collision on Ocean Parkway and Avenue X left one young college student dead.

The accident happened at about midnight on Saturday night. Jamal Iqbal was driving a minivan and was hit by an out of control BMW. He was rushed to Coney Island Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the BMW and his 30-year-old female passenger are in stable condition.

According to reports from Dnainfo.com, the driver has been arrested. He is a resident of Bath Beach and has been charged with criminally negligent homicide, vehicular manslaughter, reckless endangerment and reckless driving.

The Bath Beach driver was allegedly going more than 90 miles per hour at the time of the crash, which is three times the speed limit, according to the Daily News.
