Afternoon Bite: Mexican Pizza From New Yummy Taco
Looking for something a little bit different, but at the same time budget friendly? Give the Mexican Pizza from New Yummy Taco (1106 8th Avenue, between 11th and 12th Street) a whirl.
For $7.29, you get a large and fluffy flour tortilla, baked with your choice of black beans, mushrooms, beef, chicken, or chorizo (we went with black beans and beef), cheese and tomatoes.
The portion size was very generous, the beef was tender and not too salty, the beans were sweet, and overall it was just a great melding of flavors.
We’d definitely recommend using a knife and fork for this pizza, though (it’s okay…it’s not a real New York pizza). The toppings were packed onto the tortilla, and if you tried to pick it up, you’d just end up with an epic mess.
