Adorable Event Alert: Doggie Fashion Show At Freddy’s On Friday

Don’t bother making any other plans for this Friday, July 18 between 5-9pm, because the only place you need to be is at Freddy’s Bar (627 5th Avenue), where they’ll be hosting their first ever Doggie Fashion Show!

This Friday marks the first of several Summer Strolls, where 5th Avenue will be shut down to traffic for a giant block party, and Freddy’s is pulling out all the stops by inviting doggie divas to strut their stuff on a “cat-walk” runway, and neighbors to cheer them on, outside along 5th between 17th and 18th Streets.

Sponsored by Lagunitas Brewing Company and Smuttynose Brewing Company, as well as the Fifth Avenue BID and Freddy’s, partial proceeds from beer sales will go to the BARC shelter in Williamsburg. The top winners will receive gift certificates from Petland Discounts, and sponsors are also providing plenty of doggy swag to give away free.

The Gowanus comedians Brooke Van Poppelen and Giulia Rozzi will host, and The Gowanus Circus and Bill Carney’s Jug Addicts will perform before, at points during, and again after the show.
