88th Precinct Crime Statistics: Crime Falls In All Major Categories, But Shootings Rise

Crime fell across the board this week compared to last week’s spike in all major categories: rape went from 1 to 0, robbery from 4 to 3, felony assault from 6 to 5, burglary from 4 to 1, grand larceny from 18 to 7, and auto thefts from 1 to 0.

Housing crimes also fell from 4 to 1, and misdemeanor sex crimes from 1 to 0.

There were a jump in shootings, however, compared to last week’s zero. Shooting incidents went from 0 to 3 — resulting in four victims.

Also up were petit larcenies, from 11 to 15, misdemeanor assaults, from 3 to 6.

The next 88th Precinct Community Council meeting is TONIGHT, Tuesday, May 19 at 7pm at the French Speaking Baptist Church, entrance at Vanderbilt and Willoughby Avenues.
