61st Precinct Community Council To Meet Inside Station House Tomorrow

The 61st Precinct Community Council Meeting will meet tomorrow, May 14, inside the  station house of the 61st Precinct (2575 Coney Island Avenue) YDE High School (2533 Coney Island Avenue) at 7:30 p.m.

The Community Council is comprised of concerned residents and top brass from the 61st Precinct, and offers neighbors an opportunity to ask questions and express concerns about crime and safety issues in the area. The monthly meetings are attended by Captain John M. Chell, the commanding officer of the precinct, who will present a report on incidents and trends in the neighborhood, and speak face-to-face with neighbors about specific concerns.

For further information, or if you have questions or comments concerning Community Affairs, call (718) 627-6847.

Correction: The original version of this article indicated that the meeting will be inside the station house. It is actually down the block, at YDE High School, and the post has been amended.

  1. Yes. There was a bit of confusion about that and I ended up with the wrong info, but your comment prodded me to confirm one more time. You’re right, and the post is amended.

  2. The way they are multiplying, and being fruitful in the area, makes me think that one day, the Precinct will be turned into a Yeshiva! What happened to the days when the vast majority of American Jews in southern Brooklyn sent their kids to the Public Schools, and helped make them great?! Come to think of it, whatever happened to those particular Jews?!!! This is one landsman, who is troubled by this development, and finds it, so sad…….
