What: A colorful musical adventure based on P.D. Eastman’s whimsical and well-loved picture book.

Global Lens Film Series: The Parade
When: Saturday, January 25, 4pm
Where: Central Library, Dweck Center, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: This Serbian film provides a  shrewd and humane comedic take on gay rights, as activists in Belgrade strike a tense alliance with Limun, a Serbian crime boss, whose fiancée demands an extravagant wedding that only struggling gay theater director Mirko and his friends can provide.

Saturday Music: The Zebra Mechanics
When: Saturday, January 25, 5:50-9:30pm
Where: A’Putia, 179 5th Avenue
What: The new cafe is introducing the first in its first Saturday Music series this weekend with a performance by The Zebra Mechanics. Stop by to enjoy the music, and also get a free taste of a Sicilian bruschetta and their popular cassata.

Winter Follies Showcase
When: Saturday, January 25, 7:30pm
Where: Spoke The Hub, 295 Douglass Street
What: More than 25 professional artists of all genres have just 5 minutes to wow the audience, and at the end of the show, you vote for your favorite act! See the full list of performers (including Inclined Dance Project, pictured above) here.
How much: $15 adults in advance; $20 at the door; $10 students and seniors

Super Ball III Meatball Cook-Off
When: Sunday, January 26, 7pm
Where: Uncle Barry’s, 58 5th Avenue
What: Ready to taste some meatballs? The third-annual cook-off will pit 11 amateur and professional chefs against one another, and your admission grants you a taste of them all, plus a pint of beer. Then vote for your favorites!
How much: $10 at the door

Our Princess Is In Another Castle: The Winter MARIOlympics
When: Sunday, January 26, 7:30pm (doors 7pm)
Where: Union Hall, 702 Union Street
What: A little friendly videogame competition using some classic consoles and games. Free to attend and play, and contestants can win prizes, drinks, and of course, bragging rights.
