535 Classon Rising Fast & Other Local Construction Updates
We were amazed to see walking by 535 Classon Avenue (between Fulton Street and Putnam Avenue) yesterday that it’s already two stories high! When we stopped by in mid-July, the building’s foundation was only just being laid with rebar.
The building, which is slated to include 38 rental units over 26,000 sq ft and is supposed to be completed by next summer, is a far cry from 516 Classon across the way–Brownstoner pointed out last week that even at only 18 units and about 16,000 sq ft, 516 will be missing its approaching construction deadline by a long shot.
As for other local construction sites, 1008 and 1035 Fulton look to not have budged much, and 1045-1047 Fulton is still standing (all three are between Downing Street and IrvingPlace). 976-978 Fulton (between Grand Avenue and Saint James Place), on the other hand, is now surrounded by scaffolding as work continues.
