13-Year-Old Girl Groped Outside Borough Park Middle School
Cops are searching for a creep who groped a middle schooler walking to IS 220 John J. Pershing (4812 9th Avenue) Friday morning.
After he approached the 13-year-old girl and asked her for directions, the suspect touched her hair and chest over her coat, according to police. Officers arrived at the school at approximately 7:57am.
The perp is described as a Hispanic male, between 30-40 years old, 5 feet 10 inches, 180 pounds, with a mustache. He was last seen wearing a black hat and grey jacket, say cops.
A letter from the school was distributed to parents and posted on the IS 220 website Friday, urging caution and suggesting students refrain from using headphones while walking in the street:
Many of our students travel to and from school walking to school each and every day. All children must be encouraged to be aware of their surroundings when walking to and from our school building. Headphones, CD players, iPODS or any other electronic devices used by students to occupy their time while commuting can be a threat to their safety as they do not permit students to hear what is going on in their surrounding environment. Therefore, as a safety precaution, we are asking that students refrain from using any listening devices when commuting.
No arrests were made and an investigation is ongoing.
