Greene Avenue between Grand Avenue and Cambridge Place is getting its own little restaurant row! Choice owner and proprietor of the forthcoming seafood and raw bar eatery at 214 Greene Avenue Thierry Cabigeos mentioned at June 30’s Community Board 2 meeting that another restaurant would be moving in next door (formerly Jaz Tattoo), so we stopped by today to see if any progress had been made at either address.

A contractor at 212 said it will be a 70 seat farm-to-table restaurant headed up by Chef Gabe McMackin, formerly of Roberta’s and Blue Hill (and apparently up until last year, of his own very entertaining food blog). He said the restaurant intends to serve alcohol as well.

Permits for work at the site include repairs to the space, as well as a fire suppression system, as cooking equipment has already been installed. The worker we spoke to said he hopes to wrap up renovations in about a month.
