21-Story Mixed-Use Building Rises To Fifth Floor At 237 Duffield Street
A planned 21-story, 105-unit mixed-use building at 237 Duffield St. in Downtown Brooklyn, is under construction and has reached the fifth floor, YIMBY reported.
A construction photo posted on YIMBY forums by photographer Tectonic showed the 111,775-square-foot, 222-foot-tall building is in the works and coming to shape.
The building will have 4,731 square feet of retail space across the ground and cellar levels. Rental apartments will cover the residential units above and should average 809 square feet each.
According to the latest renderings, the building located between Fulton and Willoughby streets has black gridded windows with bluish glass and a red brick exterior.
Amenities include storage for 53 bikes, laundry facilities, and terraces on the 13th and 21st floors. Castle Rock Equity Group is the developer, and Urban Tectonics is behind the architecture. Developers expect completion in 2017.
Another development site neighboring 237 Duffield St., is Willoughby Square, and its one step closer to reality as the city prepares to demolish 217 Duffield St., an office building between Willoughby and Fulton streets to construct an underground parking garage with a park on top. The Economic Development Corporation has no specific timeline for when the park would be complete.
