Spring break camps begin on April 14. The time to register is now. Some camps have limited space, and the coveted slots are filling up fast.

Arts
Accomplished artists teach at most of the Brooklyn art camps. Additionally, the camps use quality materials and teach real crafts. In some, campers will visit our city’s world class museums to see the work of the masters.
BAX Brooklyn Arts Exchange

Jump into a dance frenzy at Brooklyn Arts Exchange. Campers also explore theater, circus moves, and learn body movements through tumbling.
Choice Scholars

This Montessori inspired arts program has young artist explore the world through poetry and playwriting.

Textile Arts Center

As of this writing, there were only around 2 dozen slots left in each of Textile Arts Center’s April workshops. Textile Arts Center is unique in that you can sign up for daily workshops instead of for the entire week.

Science

Brooklyn Robot Foundry

This week campers will explore wind, water, and light–essential elements for our survival. Can’t commit for the week? Brooklyn Robot Foundry is offering an open play on April 21 and 22.

Language
Juguemos a Cantar Summer Day Camp

For children between the ages of 3-10
Full immersion is the way to learn a language. Native English speakers and native Spanish speakers explore traditional camp activities like cooking and gardening. But all communication will be done in Spanish. Spanish-as-a-2nd-language learners will become fluent in the language while native speakers will develop a more nuanced appreciation for their native tongue. Half-day and half-week camps are also available.

Outdoor Camps
For kids who want to spend their summer exploring the outdoors (and the animals that live there).
Brooklyn Botanical Garden

For 2-year-olds to 8th graders
The Brooklyn Botanical Garden hosts a short 3-day camp for young urban farmers in grades K-5. The class is only in the morning.

Sports
Whether they like baseball, soccer, gymnastics, karate, or all of the above, there is a sports camp in the borough that’s the right fit.
Aviator Sports

Visit one of their many open houses.
Register by the day or for the full April break. Aviator will keep your child moving be it on ice, on a climbing wall, or sitting down for arts and crafts.
Brooklyn Boulders

Campers will explore activities like top roping, slacklining, and bouldering. For breaks, there will be a few arts and crafts.
Camp Olympia

Registration is open for this swimming and sports camp. Parents can get the deposit refunded if they change their mind before May 1. Bring a baseball glove and a water bottle.

Urban Martial Arts

The best thing to do to secure a spot with Urban Martial Arts is to simply call or send them an email. Their camps are highly active and come highly recommended. The staff is friendly and enjoy their jobs. Call! They want to talk to you.
