16-Year Old Shot and Killed in East New York

UPDATE 11/22: Police have released further video surveillance related to the murder of Clayton Hemingway, in which the suspects can be seen firing their guns before fleeing. Police have also revised the timetable, now putting the homicide at about 7:15 pm.

Police are continuing to search for two black men males age 16 to 24 in connection with the homicide.

UPDATE: The NYPD has released the following surveillance footage and is asking for the public’s help in identifying the two suspects seen therein, who are wanted for questioning in connection with the shooting death of Clayton Hemingway.


EAST NEW YORK – Police are looking for two people in connection with the killing of 16-year old Clayton Hemingway in East New York over the weekend.

At 7:45 on the evening of Saturday, November 4th, police responded to a 911 call of shots fired at the Linden Houses, on 245 Wortman Avenue. On arrival, police discovered Hemingway with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso, police said.

EMS transported the boy to Brookdale hospital, where he was pronounced dead. There are no arrests and an investigation is ongoing.
