1016 Cortelyou Road Is Now For Rent
A few weeks back, when neighbor Jeff informed us that some construction was going on at 1016 Cortelyou Road (between Stratford Road and Coney Island Avenue), workers on the site said there was no tenant secured yet for the space. Today, it looks like the former Simple Mobile storefront is up for grabs.
Ripco Real Estate has the 1,100 sq ft store, which also has a 900 sq ft basement and a backyard, for rent at $5,000 per month beginning in April. The listing also has plans that show workers are removing several non-load-bearing walls, and that the space is already equipped with a bathroom.
The next tenant in the space will be joining relatively new neighbors Bar Chord, The Highbury Pub, and Lea on their side of the street, as well as Hartwell Vegetarian and Brooklyn ARTery across the way. Also on the block is 1029-1035 Cortelyou, which was bought in a $2M cash deal back in January, and which we expect to add residential units as well as possible residential ones in the near future.
